UNTANGLING THE NETS

Field Recordings: Fishermen cleaning and repairing their nets along the shores of Negombo, where repeated movements and everyday work reveal the rhythm of local life, Sri Lanka (Feb. 2026)

A few grounded moments by the shore — recorded as fishermen sit with their nets, untangling, repairing, and pulling out small fish caught in the mesh, repeating the same movements without pause.

Sometimes, it’s not one moment that changes something, but the repetition of it. You don’t need to understand what you see for it to start reshaping how you respond to it.
